Re: I know he is lying. Should we break up?

Dear Trew Life,

My boyfriend & I had a fight. We were driving down the street yesterday & he was listening to a voice mail on his cell phone. Now I knew something was up because of how his whole mood changed. I could hear part of voice mail & it was another female. I questioned who it was & what was going on & he told me that I didn't really want to know.

I know my boyfriends password to his cell phone so I checked the message myself. If was a woman who was clearly pissed off at him for a number of reasons, starting with him not answering his cell phone, because he was with me. Now when I questioned him about the message he accused me of ease dropping, even tho I'm sitting right next to him in the car with no music on.

He told me it was his ex-wife. I know his ex-wifes voice & that wasn't her. He just made the lie bigger & bigger. Now we are not speaking & he is sticking to this lie. what am I to do? I can't very well tell him that I listen to his messsages. What do I do. Since I know he's lying should I just break up with him & move on, or do I try to work things out. What do you suggest?

Dear Myra,

You need to talk to him about it. The worse thing to do in a relationship is be quiet. You are acting all mousy and he is sticking to some utter bullshit. This would make me angry, as a woman, because you can imagine how many other guys do this crap!

You want to stand up for who you are. I'm glad you searched and found out the information just to see how much futher he'd dig his grave. Now let him sufficate, baby. When he least expects it, confront him about it, and see what he says.

I can't tell you to leave him, because I don't know you guy's history, and that wouldn't be fair to you for me to tell you that. Only you can make that decision. But I know one thing:

1. If he lied about this, no telling what else he'll lie about. Sleep on that, and write me with a follow-up when you can.
